Energy audits in schools across the Municipality of Athens are now underway, marking the first step toward significant energy upgrades.
These energy audits, covering just over 38,000 m² of school buildings, are critical for determining current energy consumption and identifying areas for improvement. They will classify each building’s energy performance and recommend specific interventions to enhance energy efficiency. This process ensures that each school is equipped with a tailored plan for energy upgrades, making them more sustainable and cost-effective in the long run.
The audits’ importance goes beyond technical outcomes. By creating healthier learning environments, students will be able to enjoy an improved academic environment, while school staff will enjoy more comfortable and efficient workplaces.
