Energy Studies Show Massive Savings Potential for Ekatheou Street Schools in Athens

The school complex on Ekatheou Street in Athens, which houses the 92nd Primary School and the 72nd and 78th Kindergartens, is set to undergo significant energy efficiency upgrades as part of the Athens_Wave project. Based on the initial results of detailed energy studies, the project aims to drastically improve energy consumption and reduce the environmental impact across all three buildings. Built between 1978 and the early 1980s, the structures collectively cover a total surface area of 2,374.25 m².

The expected results are:

Energy Consumption Reduction: 92.04%

Annual Energy Savings: 752,805.44 kWh, saving €19,170.20 / year

Annual CO₂ Emissions Reduction: 243,566.55 kg / year

Lower Operating Costs: Reduced from €21,265.10 to €2,094.90 / year

Energy Efficiency: 315.50 kWh/m² saved

Stay tuned for further updates on the energy study results for the remaining buildings!
